IESO 'Alternative Technologies for Regulation' Procurement (2012)

Ontario's Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) conducted a procurement for regulation services in 2012, which resulted in the IESO entering into contract with two energy storage facilities, with a total capacity of 6 MW:  NRStor's 2MW Minto facility in Wellington County, and Renewable Energy Systems Canada's 4 MW battery storage facility in Strathroy, ON.

This procurement was later followed by the IESO's 50MW storage procurement process that began in 2014.
