Emissions Reduction Alberta (formerly CCEMC)
Emissions Reduction Alberta is a public corporation in the Province of Alberta mandated to identify and accelerate innovative solutions that secure the province's success in a lower carbon economy.
Formerly the Climate Change and Emissions Management Corporation, Emissions Reduction Alberta is the agency tasked with managing the Climate Change and Emissions Management Fund (CCEMF) on behalf of the Minister of Environment in Alberta.
The CCEMF was established by the Climate Change and Emissions Management Act (2007), which implemented emissions targets for large industrial facilities in Alberta. The CCEMF is funded through industry compliance costs under this legislation.
